We met three years ago at a biology conference in New York, and the drinks afterward changed everything. Oscar followed Jake into the startup scene — events together every day, long runs every weekend — and we learned long distance the hard way: Bronx to Brooklyn, then a year across the country in eastern Washington, until Oscar moved home to Oakland and Jake followed. Now we're getting married where we landed. Everything you'll need is here: where to be, when, and how to make a weekend of it.
The Schedule
The look: garden aristocratic — linen, florals, something you could lounge on a lawn in. And a rumor for after dark: when the dancing starts, everyone may be asked to arrive as a bride or a groom. Details to follow.
Need alterations? See Zoltan at Advanced European Tailoring in Berkeley — tell him Jake & Oscar sent you. He'll have you sorted before Saturday.
Travel
Nearest Airports
SFO (San Francisco) or OAK (Oakland) — both are easy. OAK is closest to the Friday aperitivo; either works for the weekend.
Airport guide →Where to Sleep
Room blocks are being arranged in Oakland/Berkeley — details to follow. Airbnbs across the East Bay and Point Reyes Station work beautifully too.
Room blocks →Getting Around
Two chartered buses will run on Saturday — out to the tree tunnel at Point Reyes and on to dinner, then back at the end of the night. Pickup points to follow.
